Newly built, care has been taken to maintain a traditional style. The
naturally simple architecture is enhanced by a pretty garden surround and gives
the property a very pleasing, welcoming ambience.
The
owner lives nearby (she is respectful of clients privacy) but otherwise the place
is very much on its own and private. The land around the house remains wild and
unspoiled with lots of trees and Mediterranean forest.
Once inside it feels fresh but equally cosy and intimate, with a Moroccan influence
to the decor which blends well with the overall style. Soft discrete lighting, old restored
windows and doors, as well as other rustic details here and there add character and bring everything to life.
The living / dining
/ kitchen area is open plan with high ceilings and perfectly equipped for a couple.
There's a CD player for those who like to listen to music but no TV, something
else to escape from!
From the spacious main terrace one can really appreciate the spectacular views
which encompass six different mountain villages as well as the imposing range
of La Tejeda de Almijara whose tallest peak, Maroma, is often covered
in a dusting of fine snow during the winter months. But don't be alarmed by the
thought of snow - here the climate is delightful,
more or less throughout the year. On a clear day the sparkling blue Mediterranean
merges into the distant horizon.
