Not so long ago this was a humble shepherd´s house. No longer!
Now it is offered as a holiday home in which every detail has been taken
care of.
All on one level, it is both comfortable and well equipped,
yet still retains its lovely old character. Original windows and walls are still
there and existing materials have been restored wherever possible. The result
is charming, still with that 'rustic' feel that an old cottage like this deserves.
There are other advantages too: for example, the original thick walls offer insulation
which few modern constructions can match, retaining warmth in winter and keeping
the hot summer sun at bay.
The house has a wonderful setting too, within
its own tree-filled estate of 10,000 m2, so there's plenty of space to spread
out and really enjoy outdoor living, Andaluz style.
It is a great location, private and intimate, tranquil and unspoilt. Here you
will really appreciate the fresh air, sunshine and birdsong of a delightful rural
landscape. The surrounding countryside has the feel of genuine working farmland
rather than that of a holiday destination.
There's lots more beauty close
at hand, too: El Torcal, the Montes de Málaga, El Chorro, Guadalteba Lake
(and its narrow pass, Los Gaitanes), offer an incredible variety of topography
and natural wealth.
Not surprisingly, the views from the terraces are fantastic.
On a clear day they extend to the Mediterranean Sea beyond the seaside fun and
frolics of Torremolinos. The extraordinary, rugged rock formations of El Torcal
are less than half an hour's drive away. Horseriding is even closer, available
nearby.
Great day trips to some of Spain's best historical
cities, Seville, Córdoba, Granada and Antequera, are all possible thanks
to the property's location in the heart of Andalucía.
Inside, the house is finished and furnished
with quality. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and good sized, comfortable
beds. Wooden beams, earthen tiles, cane ceilings, original doors and windows have
been carefully restored to maintain the rustic atmosphere. These are complimented
by modern appliances - a dishwasher, central heating, satellite TV - and proper
service (you will find a welcome food hamper on your arrival).
Good as
it is inside, our guess is that you will want to spend as much time as possible
outdoors, enjoying a barbecue on the porch perhaps, or lounging by the pool. Wherever
you are on the property, you will be surrounded by rolling hills and countryside
bliss.
