These two sister hotels are situated right in the heart of the city, so either
is an excellent starting point for exploring the magic of Granada.
Clean and comfortable city-centre hotels, if they lack a little
in character and tradition, they nevertheless offer good service and functionality in a perfect location.
As city hotels go, they are relatively small (with 31 and 53 rooms respectively)
offering reasonable intimacy and, in our experience, always polite and friendly
service.
All the amenities of a quality hotel are available: rooms are en-suite with
satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, mini bar, internet connection, safe deposit
boxes, hairdryer and bathrobes. There is air conditioning throughout. Common facilities
include room service, a cafetería / bar, garage parking and reception services.
"Dauro I" is located more or less alongside El Corte Ingles,
Spain's principal department store in the centre of town. "Dauro II"
isn't far away, situated between two pedestrian streets. No traffic noise
here, but being on one of the town's so-called "ruta de tapas", there's plenty
of good natured bar life to enjoy instead.
The whole joy of these hotels
is that you can just stroll out and find yourself in the middle of this small,
friendly, yet truely great city. It's a town to walk in: to explore its cobbled lanes
throbbing with fascinating street life, wander alongside the River Dauro with
the Alhambra Palace rising magnificently above, enjoy the romance and history
of the Albaycin and Sacramonte districts. Stop, of course, from time to time, for
tapas and refreshments at any of a thousand little bars. And if you have any energy
left at the end of the day, the night life isn't bad, either!
