This stone built cottage has a privileged location, situated in a delightful spot with superb views down the whole sweep of the magnificent
Poqueira Valley. At the foot of the Moorish village of
Bubión, it's as peaceful as can be here, just gorgous nature all around, a highly desirable holiday location.
All one floor, it is both spacious and comfortable for two people, although it can easily accommodate two more making use of the sofabed in the living room.
An L shaped property, it is flooded with wonderful Andalusian light, thanks to the four French double doors that run along its length; giving it a bright and open feeling throughout, which compliments its lovely rustic style.
The living area has a good sofa as well as the sofa bed. There is a music/DVD centre, and a pretty fireplace for homey evenings when the high mountain temperatures begin to chill a little.
This leads through to the country style kitchen and to the bathroom. The kitchen is compact but decently equipped with a dishwasher and a big fridge. Furnished with quality hand-made tiles and thick wooden shelves it is an agreeable and functional place to rustle up a meal. The bathroom is small, with a shower over a half bathtub.
On the other side of the "L", the kitchen leads through to the dining room (which is also the main access into the cottage). It is equipped with a table and chairs for six, just in case you invite some friends.
This in turn leads through to the master bedroom by way of a curtained archway. It has a king sized double bed and its charm and character is enhanced by some antique furnishings, an old iron stove and colorful thick rugs.
Outdoors, there's another delightful world awaiting you. Situated just a stone's throw away from the village church and the main square alongside (where you can usually park), access is through a quite delightful and well maintained garden, full of mature trees and flowering shrubs. This garden is half owned by a neighbouring house, but they rarely, if ever, set foot in it.
You will enjoy complete privacy - and a different ambience - on the terrace which leads out from the living room and also in the lawned garden which leads off from the dining area. This "top" garden and the terrace are fenced off, assuring parents full relaxation. All doors can be freely left open to the outdoor areas.
There are other houses around and about but here, with the beauty and tranquility of the Alpujarran countryside all around, as well as the delightful garden areas, you will enjoy plenty of secluded privacy.
Situated in the oldest part of the little mountain 'pueblo' with its narrow cobbled
streets, stone walls and traditional architecture one is transported back to the
Spain of days long gone by. On clear days in the colder months one
can see the Rif mountains of Morocco rising up across the shimmering Mediterranean
Sea. A pretty little cottage, it's a wonderfully rustic and
comfortable abode.
