These apartments and small houses are part of a little development built ten
or so years ago, climbing up the hillside on the very edge of the mountain village.
Richly planted with roses, shrubs and flowers, the crowning glory is a delightful
communal swimming pool (10 x 4m), with fabulous views over the village to the
snow-capped mountains beyond.
On the country road which connects the high mountain villages, it's just a short stroll from here to the village bars, restaurants and shops. It is here, in this development, that you will find Rustic Blue's offices.
Simple yet attractively designed and built in traditional Alpujarran style, we
have selected two of the one-bedroomed apartments which we consider to offer the
best facilities, including a small private terrace.
There's nothing luxurious
about them but for a relatively cheap holiday in one of the most beautiful of
all the Alpujaran villages, we think they offer good value.
We also offer a two bedroomed apartment, also attractively designed and built in traditional Alpujarran style. It is neatly furnished and has its own, small private terrace. Tidy and comfortable, it has all amenities.
Bubión is one of the high mountain villages situated on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada. Sitting proudly in the midst of the incredibly beautiful Poqueira Ravine, it is the middle one of the three traditional Moorish villages located here (Capileira and Pampaneira are the others).
Great countryside for walking, whether seriously or just for a little relaxation, the views in every direction are quite exceptional.
To the north, the highest mountains on the Spanish mainland, Veleta
and Mulhacén, rise up dramatically to the skyline (for much
of the year covered by a thick blanket of snow). To the south, the
Mediterranean Sea glistens beyond the coastal mountain ranges of Lújar
and the Contraviersa. The Rif Mountains of Morocco are sometimes clearly
visible from here, particularly in the mellow evening light of autumn
and winter.
Places don't come much more beautiful than this.
