This charming house is situated in a quiet street on the
edge of Mecina, one of the smallest white villages of the ancient Moorish district
of La Tahá
The
house is on two floors. On the ground floor a cosy living room opens through wide
doors to a secluded garden dominated by a lovely willow tree. The first floor has
two nice little terraces with views to the mountains and over the typical,
flat roofs of the village.
Although mostly new it includes many of the attractive features of traditional
architecture of the area, Andalusian handcrafted tiles, terracotta floors and
heavy wooden beams. Decoration and furniture are simple but tasteful.
Notwithstanding that the owner (a quiet and unobtrusive Spanish woman) lives in an adjoining part of the property, it is nevertheless a perfect place for a quiet and comfortable holiday retreat. For
leisurely walks, there are many paths linking the seven villages of la Tahá
to each other through rural countryside surrounded by impressive mountains.
