This large village house has been completely rebuilt and refurbished, using local materials and in keeping traditional Alpujarran
style. It is located in a quiet corner of the little Moorish mountain pueblo from where there are spendid
views of the dramatic and very beautiful surrounding countryside.
One enters from a small entrance hall, under a thick bough fashioned into an
archway, to a spacious, open-plan sitting room and kitchen.
Sturdy, polished beams of chestnut run the length of the room and walls are painted a light-ochre. Attractive brickwork surrounds the glass-fronted fireplace.
Decoration
here, and in the bathroom, includes tiles from the old Granada Fajalauza factory.
Floors have been neatly tiled, the kitchen is well-equipped and furnishings are
either new or older, more traditional items such as the iron bedsteads. Three of the four bedrooms are upstairs.
A private terrace offers sweeping views all the way down to the Mediterranean
Sea beyond Sierra Lujar. In cooler months the log fire operates an efficient central
heating system.
It all adds up to a good value house for a large family or group of friends who are looking for good value and don't expect anything too fancy. And there are discounted prices for smaller parties.
