This ancient flour mill
dating back to the time of the Moors has now been converted into two charming,
adjacent cottages. A third cottage has been added, in the same style, alongside.
The original (and still working) features of the mill have been retained and converted
into a small museum which forms part of the building.
The two mill cottages have been restored using authentic materials, retaining
the original earthenware floors and limestone walls. Arabic tiles and wooden beams
lend them a cosy and welcoming, rustic feel.
Each cottage is completely independent and self-contained. Each has its own terrace
and barbecue. They have a kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms as well as a traditional
open fireplace.
A great place for families, children will delight in the little bridge crossing
the pure water spring at the entrance to the cottages and the duck pond (complete with ducks, of course) in the garden.
The
extensive, attractive garden overlooks Padúl Lake at the back and is a great spot
to relax in the sun, taking in the magnificent views across to the Sierra Nevada.
Enjoy the many colours and wide varieties of Mediterranean plants and fruit trees
- when you're not busily engaged in taking a dip in the little swimming pool, or lazing
about with a good book.
There's plenty to do in and around the Lecrín Valley.
There are lots of lovely walks in the local area and in the mountains beyond;
the owner of the Molino is happy to organise other activities such as canoeing
on nearby lakes and canals.
Just
a little further afield, the cottages are within easy striking distance of Granada, the Mediterranean coast and the impressive mountains of Las Alpujarras.
