Las Navas de Priego de Córdoba is the collective name given to a number
of farmhouses and homesteads spread out far and wide over the plain south-east
of Priego de Córdoba.
Here you will find this delightfully tranquil and private farmhouse.
It's nine kilometres from here to the shops and restaurants in Almedinilla, so
not that far from civilisation, really!
A well-built, well-fitted house, it's spick-and-span and
homey. Set back from the country lane it is surrounded by olive groves (belonging
to the same family so your privacy is ensured). There is a gravel parking in the
planted garden area at the front of the house, and here also is the swimming pool,
which has a watershoot, stone sun terrace and night lighting.
Floors are tiled in red-and-white and ceilings beamed throughout. A sofa and
armchairs are ranged around a large fireplace and this comfortable sitting area
is open-plan with the dining area and kitchen alongside. The colour scheme is a warm yellow.
One of the double bedrooms and a shower room are also on this floor.
A second shower room and the four remaining bedrooms are on the first floor, the
twin-bedded rooms being especially generous in size.
On request, the friendly Spanish owners will buy in shopping needs for your arrival
and there's a tiny settlement, Fuente Grande, some two kilometres away, with a bar (of course!) that also sells all basic foodstuffs and is open all
hours. Otherwise you have Almedinilla 15 minutes away, for most shopping needs,
restaurants and bars. An extra fridge is provided for additional storage, by the way.
Almedinilla (population 2,500) is famous for its excavations of a Roman villa
and has an archaeological museum. Priego de Córdoba, one of our favourite
small towns in Andalucía, is only 25 minutes away.
