Set in the peace and tranquility of the Andalucian countryside, this recently built villa has the most stunning of views - across the valleys and distant pueblos blancos (white villages) to the Tejeda mountain range and the Sierra Nevada far beyond, as well as to the Mediterranean coast. It is a splendid scene, whatever the time of the year.
It is almost - but not quite - private as it is built directly below the sun terrace of another rental villa. It's lower down the hillside but parts of the pool and its surrouding terraces are overlooked in places. But the villa itself, and its shaded eating terrace immeadiately outside, are completely hidden from view.

Five minutes drive from the pretty white village of Colmenar, through olive and almond covered hillsides brings us to the villa which is accessed by a 300 metre track (in excellent condition) which winds down the hillside to the ample parking space immeadiately above the villa. It is accessed down a short flight of external steps to the side of the other rental property.
It's a blissful countryside location. Joyous scenery stretches as far as the eye can see across to the distant mountain ranges on the horizon. It's a very relaxing, completely rural spot, a place where you will feel totally at peace with the rest of the world.
And it's all very pretty too, with wide steps descending from the villa to the pool terrace below, the bank festooned with flowers and colourful shrubs. A large, mature palm provides leafy shade (and privacy) over one corner of the pool.
A higher terrace, immeadiately outside the villa, has an attractive cane-covered awning which provides an ideal seating area for dining "al-fresco". The brick built barbecue is alongside.
Inside it is a neat and tidy, simply but comfortably furnished. A large, modern style open-plan room has a well equipped kitchen to one side, separated from the dining and living areas by a long, tiled bar top. The dining table comfortable seats six and there are two sofas gathered around the antique wood burning stove. A large picture-window makes the best of the glorious views.
A corridor leads through to the three bedrooms and a bathroom. The master double bedroom has its own en-suite walk-in shower room and has double doors to the side gardens. The other two bedrooms (both twin bedded) share a bathroom between them (shower over bath tub).
There is a large play area for children alongside the parking area above the villa. This includes a tree house (with a slide) under a large holm oak tree, a bouncy trampoline (with a protective netting surround), swings and a basket ball net. This area should be used under adult supervision at all times. A large toy box can also be provided on request for younger children.
The village of Colmenar, located a short drive away, provides a good selection of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, 24 hour medical centre and a bustling weekly market.
Locally, outdoor activities include birdwatching (especially in spring), cycling, horse riding and walking. Málaga is just three quarters of an hour away and other Mediterranean resorts such as Nerja and Torre del Mar are also easily accessable with their restaurants and beautiful beaches. Along the coast there are excellent shopping complexes, exclusive golf clubs, water parks, marinas, zoos and cinema complexes.
Inland there are pretty villages to explore with their authentic Andalusian character, the timeless countryside of La Axarquía - with it's beautiful lake, La Viñuela as it's centrepiece - and the dramatic mountain terrain of the Montes de Málaga. It is also ideally situated to explore many of Andalucia's great historic and cultural centres, including Ronda, Granada and Córdoba.
One thing is for sure: wherever you head off to you will always return to beautiful views, peace and quiet and simple, countryside joys.
