Property Description

Set among olive, orange and lemon trees, this apartment is situated just off the mountain road that climbs up from the market town of Órgiva to the high villages of La Alpujarra. It's an easy ten minute walk into town from here (possibly a bit longer and a more strenuous walk to return, as it's uphill).

The casita is all on the ground floor, comprising the back part of a two-storey family home. It shares the driveway and entrance with the main part of the house, but otherwise it is completely self-contained, enjoying exclusive use of the swimming pool and the terrace which runs along its length. Neither are overlooked and are therefore entirely private.

The interior is simple, functional and pleasantly decorated with the odd rustic touch here and there, the walls painted in an attractive soft ochre. The kitchen is divided from the living / dining room by a brick-built bar area. Two bedrooms lead off, one double and one twin. A bathroom (shower only) completes the distribution inside.

Outside, the terrace which runs along the side of the casita is a tranquil spot, an ideal place to relax (under the welcome shade of the grapevine which overhangs it) and enjoy the peace of the Andalusian countryside between dips in the pool.

The nearby market town of Órgiva has several small but well stocked supermarkets and a thriving market every Thursday. Typical local food is served in bars and restaurants. There is a good pizzeria in town, with a summer orange grove to dine in, popular with tourists and locals alike.

Beyond lie the spa town of Lanjarón (on the road which takes you to Granada), the beaches of the Costa Tropical and the picturesque white villages of the high mountains, Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira.
