This lovely rustic town house has been carefully restored and decorated by its
English owners to create a home full of old-world charm.
Traditional features,
such as 300 year old beams, exposed stone walls, terracotta floors, and a white
washed facade adorned with ornamental iron work have been preserved and mixed
with bright ceramics and Moroccan artefacts.
Situated at the very edge of
Jimena de la Frontera, just below its famous castle, this house is for enjoying the best of both
worlds, from complete privacy by the little swimming pool at the back of the garden to
the bustling street life of one of Andalucia's most charming villages. Little
shops, tapas bars and restaurants abound in Jimena. The nearby Alcornocales Park
is a paradise for nature lovers and beaches, golf courses and the ancient town
of Ronda are all an easy drive away.
Downstairs are two twin bedrooms, each with its own colourfully tiled bathroom,
and a small study / bedroom which opens to a patio. The swimming pool lies further down
some steps in the terraced garden. By the pool there is a small terrace with sun
loungers which is completely private and enjoys beautiful views of the valley
and mountains beyond.
On the first floor the open-plan kitchen / dining / sitting room gives onto a
wide terrace with wonderful views over the Hozgarganta river gorge to the cork-oak
forested slopes of the Alcornocales Natural Park beyond. This terrace is perfect
for sunbathing and dining al fresco although its low wall does not make it ideal
for younger children. The kitchen opens to a dining area which has a vaulted,
beamed ceiling and a large dining table.
