Situated just below the beautiful mountain village of Gaucín, this estate, which comprises a main house with adjoining apartment plus this lovely villa set apart on its own, is a spectacular retreat. Graced by stunning views of Gibraltar and
Africa to the south and the majestic mountains of Ronda to the north, its setting
provides the perfect holiday location, whether you want to absorb the wonderful
culture of Andalucía or simply relax by the pool.
Constructed in traditional local style with several Moorish design highlights,
the villa is completely hidden and invisible from the main house. It has
its own entrance and private infinity pool, surrounded by a sunbathing terrace
and a covered patio.
Indoors, the villa's large living space is bathed in light which floods in from
the full-length south facing terrace. Rustic design features, wooden beamed ceilings
and warm colours combine perfectly with modern elements such as under-floor heating
and tasteful lighting. A large open fireplace adds lovely atmosphere and there are lots of fascinating details, such as the beautiful mosaic set in the kitchen wall.
The spacious bedrooms each have their own complete bathroom and large cupboards
to pack away travel bags and clothing. The master bedroom has doors which open
onto the covered terrace.
Descend to the garden which slopes gently down
the mountainside: all around the magnificent rural vistas unfold. The pool area
is accessed directly from the terrace and a few steps away sits the most sumptuous
jacuzzi - built into its own gazebo - a unique feature and a wonderful place to
relax or star gaze at night.
Water from a cascade tumbles down the rock face into the infinity pool. The
rocks and water seem to blend with the sky and gel perfectly with the mountainous
terrain which surrounds Gaucín. Large green lawns, tropical plants and
spectacular natural gardens surround the pool and make the property complete.
For active times, there is a full sized tennis court (shared with other guests
staying on the estate) with an all-weather cushioned surface. It has been described as "one of the most beautiful courts in Europe".
For evenings out Gaucín offers excellent tapas bars and restaurants, although
you may prefer to stroll through the markets in the afternoon to buy fresh fish
and bread for a meal in.
Trips to the beach are only a 30 minute drive
away. Most will want to visit the spectacular Spanish town of Ronda which is also
close by, further to the north.
A luxurious retreat for those who wish
to unwind and relax in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Spain.
