Hotel Description
This small hotel is right in the city centre, on pedestrianised Calle Navas, just a short stroll from the Ayuntamiento (the city hall). Originally a Palace in the 16th Century, it has been skillfully restored; retaining most of its original architectural features, and is now a delightful, nineteen room hotel.
The spacious and attractively decorated rooms are all ensuite, with air conditioning and heating, a minibar, satellite television, a safe, hairdryer in the bathroom and internet access. On four floors (there is a lift), they surround a central, typically Granadino columned patio / courtyard. The rooms all have a lovely, relaxing atmosphere, created by decors of soft creams and white and attractive furnishings.
Other facilities include a breakfast restaurant and the lovely open courtyard with its sofas and wicker armchairs around a twinkling fountain.
There are lots of thoughtful extra touches, such as good quality bedlinen, towels and bathrobes, and iced water always available in reception. The staff take pride in being helpful and friendly. Breakfast is just as it should be, freshly squeezed orange juice, good coffee, nice pastries, ham and cheese, proper Spanish fare.
Stylish and attractive, the hotel exudes calm and comfort, a peaceful refuge right in the heart of the city. The location couldn't be better, within walking distance of all the city's major attractions (the Alhambra is fifteen minutes walk, or five minutes by bus, and the cathedral is just a short stroll from here). You need go no further than the street outside to find some of Granada's best tapa bars.
Calle Navas is a lovely little pedestrian thoroughfare, full of little bars and cafés, with their tables and chairs spilling out onto the street. With so many bars around and about, inevitably there's some high spirited noise at night. But nightlife here is invariably good tempered and well mannered, and the bars are all closed by, or soon after, midnight.
An excellent place to stay and reasonably priced, the hotel offers a choice between standard rooms (double or twin bedded) or superior rooms (double of twin bedded). There is also a Suite, a Junior Suite, one room with handicapped facilities and one single room. If you are looking for a cosy, comfortable place to stay, with a little style and panache too, you will enjoy Palacio de los Navas.
