Property Description
At the end of a five kilometre tarmac track which winds its way through delightfully rural countryside, the hillsides dotted here and there with working farms, this house is completely secluded and private. The only sounds here are the soft clinking of goats bells in the fields beyond, and birdsong up above.
It's an idyllic spot, far away from most 21st Century lifestyles yet not impossibly remote either: it takes just fifteen minutes to reach the village of Casabermeja.
Originally built in 1822, it is now completely restored. Cheerfully rustic, it is pleasant and comfortable with soft decorations harmonising perfectly with the traditional style of the house.
The living room has a terracotta tiled floor and a high beamed ceiling. A few steps lead up to the country-style kitchen which has a beam and cane ceiling, a still-functioning stone bread oven, an open fireplace and a cosy sitting corner. Both the living room and the kitchen open to the terrace and gardens outside.
Everything here is on one level with just a few steps up or down taking you to the different parts of the house. From the living room, steps down lead to the bedrooms: a double which has its own small, private terrace and a second twin bedroom.
Not only is it pleasing inside: it's a joy when you step outdoors, too. There are plenty of spaces to enjoy the intoxicating tranquility and succulent, fresh air of the Andalusian countryside. A couple of minutes walk along a path through the property leads to a "mirador" where you can enjoy the amazing views which take in the whole range of the El Torcal mountain range.
There is, of course, an attractive terrace by the little swimming pool and the porch area with its grapevine cover adjacent to the house is a great place to start the day with a leisurely breakfast.
In all, the grounds comprise 10,000 square metres of private land, with hills and dales, beautiful Mediterranean flora and a wide variety of trees, some of which are more than 100 years old. It is just three kilometres away from the Natural Park, Los Montes de Málaga. With such delightful surroundings a memorable and relaxing holiday is assured.
