Villa Description

So secluded and peaceful

Let nature work its magic on you. You'll go home rested and restored

Recently built this holiday home away from home has been designed, built and furnished with two things as main priorities   – relaxation and comfort.

A steep 800 meter track down from the road that connects Gaucin to the coast, electric gates open on to a grand circular drive leading up to this appealing villa.

One enters through a large wooden doorway into the entrance hall and glass doors through to the hub of the house. Light, bright and airy, the open plan kitchen/dining and living area all have direct access to the wonderful terrace that runs along the length of the house.

The main living room area is a relaxing space with comfortable leather sofas  arranged around a glass coffee table in front of its huge, stylish chimney, a TV to one side.

Between the sea and the Sierras

Nothing is missing!

Two double doors lead to a covered terrace area with dining table, chairs and two comfy sofas, even a ceiling fan to keep you cool on the hotter days. The terrace overlooks the gardens, the pool below and the glorious views beyond, this is a cool and serene space. The kitchen doors lead out onto the same  terracotta-tiled sun terrace which is also furnished with a dining table, chairs and the barbecue. At one end of the pool is a washbasin.

The contemporary, neat kitchen has a granite counter and large granite island complete with a second sink and stools for anyone wanting to sit and make prepping meals a social event. It has an American-style fridge freezer, a 5-ring ceramic hob, electric oven and microwave. All the modern conveniences that you would expect are here: dishwasher and washing machine, along with the smaller appliances: toaster, kettle, coffee machine and all kitchen utensils.

Quiet, Light and Bright,

Set in acres of verdant nature, wonderful vistas unfold before you

A lovely glass vitrine displaying the plentiful crockery and glasses. Just off the kitchen is the pantry where the iron and board are also stored.

All open plan, in-between the living and kitchen is the dinning area, a large wooden table comfortably seats eight – although for sure you will be enjoying most of your meals outside on one of the various al fresco dining areas, directly accessed from the kitchen and living room.

Meals enjoyed under umbrellas on the lawn or by the pool with the views which extends far and wide across the stunning countryside of the Genal Valley,  are also a must!

From the living room, doors lead through to the west wing of the house -  Here you will find the three downstairs bedrooms.

Wake up to the joys of Andalucian country life

With all the convenience of modern living.

Each bedroom is spacious, light and airy, with warm colour-washed walls and fabrics in shades of light brown, dark brown, beige and white to complement the dark wood of the furniture and woodwork.

The house is planted in the early morning.

The downstairs master bedroom has a large four poster bed and en suite bathroom with full bath and walk in shower.

The second double bedroom and the twin room share a full bathroom, with bath and walk-in shower.

From the dining area, stairs lead up to a small landing and the only upstairs room:

Relax and enjoy

all that is good about a holiday in rural Andalucía.

A spectacular, spacious, bright, light master suite – Large windows on either side of the room flood the room with light, Moroccan lamps and high ceiling fans add to the  – A large flat screen TV directly in front of the king sized bed…a fantastic room, at the far end of which one step up to an open plan shower room (the shower & WC hidden behind a partition). The vanity unit in light wood and a large mirror all add to the light, romantic atmosphere.

Quiet and secluded, set in acres of verdant nature and landscaped gardens.

A flight of gently graded steps leads down to the irresistible swimming pool with its extensive, tiled sunbathing area. There's plenty of space here for lounging and relaxing, both in full sun and in the shade. Views are, of course, divine.

As peaceful as can be

but with many of Southern Spain's brightest attractions within easy reach.

Gaucín, just a 15 minute drive away, or for the more energetic a 3 km walk through country lanes,  is one of the classic white villages of Spain and has just about all the facilities you will need - small shops, a chemist, banks and, of course, several great bars and restaurants.

There's plenty to do close at hand quite apart from enjoying the villa: this part of Andalucia is a paradise for walking, exploring, riding and bird watching. There is beautiful countryside in every direction.

An ideal base for day trips to towns like Ronda, Jerez, Cádiz and Sevilla. There are delightful little villages to explore, Mediterranean beaches are half an hour's drive away; the Atlantic coast with its fine white sand and famous wind surfing is one and a half hours drive.

Quite simply, here you will enjoy all that is good in one of the great Spanish rural holiday destinations.

  • Gibraltar, steeped in history, VAT free shops … and plenty of fish & chips is 1¼ hours away.
  • Tarifa on the southernmost point of Spain is 1½ hours from here. Looking directly across the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco, Africa is so close you feel that you can almost touch it!
  • Beyond lie mile upon mile of magnificent white beaches on Spain's Atlantic coast, La Costa de la Luz.
  • A taste of Morocco perhaps? The fast boat from Tarifa to Tangiers takes 35 minutes, so you can be exploring the local souks in just a few hours. Fascinating and colourful, it really is a different world.
  • Spain's unique sherry wine region (Jerez and Sanlúcar), is well worth a visit, enhanced no doubt by stopping at one or two of the famous bodegas along the way! Jerez de la Frontera is 2 hours.
  • Cádiz (2¼ hours) continues to evoke the romance, intrigue and mystery of centuries of trade (some legal, some not so) between Europe, Africa and the Americas.
  • One of Europe's most important wetland reserves and bird sanctuaries, the Doñana National Park, is a popular attraction for nature lovers (4 hours). Its enormous variety of bird species include everything from flamingos to imperial eagles.
  • A beautiful road winds over the spectacular mountains to Ronda (45 minutes), with its spectacular gorge and Spain's oldest bullring, Hemmingway’s favourite town in all of Spain.
  • Sevilla takes 2½ hours. It is impossible not to be captivated by its exuberant atmosphere: stylish, confident, ancient and proud, yet also convivial, intimate and fun-loving. If you don't know what alegría means, Sevilla is the place to learn!
  • The fantastic railway between Algeciras on the coast and Ronda, to the north, stops at the little pueblo of Colmenar (20 minutes away). One of Europe’s great short railway journeys, running through landscapes which offer constantly plunging and spectacular views, this is a remarkable and wonderful way to see some of Andalucía's best and most dramatic countryside.
  • There are a plethora of beautiful white villages and hilltop towns to explore and enjoy in the magnificent countryside of the Serranía de Ronda – Jimena de la Frontera, Casares and Genalguacil to name but a few.
  • Nearby National Parks include the fabulous Los Alcornocales Natural Park and the Grazalema National Park, one of the most beautiful tracks of mountain anywhere in Europe. Jagged peaks, gorges, chasms, faults and caves, underground rivers and deep canyons are interspersed, here and there, by some of the prettiest villages in Spain, Grazalema, Zahara, Setenil and the other famous "pueblos blancos".
  • Córdoba and Granada are both 3 hours drive from here
