"We have just returned from another fabulous stay at this beautiful Finca and are pleased to say that yet again we had the most wonderful holiday. Everything you could possibly need is there! Wonderful lazy days enjoying the pool and the terraces, evenings strolling through the adjoining fields and returning to make use of the large barbeque. The nearby village is friendly with well stocked supermarkets and great bars and restaurants. This was our second stay at the Finca and it certainly won't be our last. "What a great find! After a bumpy ride, we arrived at the wonderful Finca. It is situated in a rural location and its position takes advantage of stunning views, plenty of outside furniture, bbq, pool and two verandas also capitalise on this. It was immaculately clean. The house really was very well equipped, in fact it really was a home from home and one of the best 'feel' places we have stayed in. If you are into wildlife and birdwatching then I highly recommend this area especially at April and September when the migration takes place. The whole place was full of wild flowers, birds, reptiles and insects also however this area boasts fascinating towns and villages, restaurants, bars and a stunning coastline. Overall a fab house in a great place, highly recommended for a fantastic holiday in real Spain."

This well-designed, well-equipped holiday home is set apart on its own six acre private estate in this very pretty part of Andalucía.
All on one floor, it was completed in 2004, everything newly furnished and fitted-out.
Under its wood beam-and-plaster ceiling, a beautifully spacious open-plan area extends from an attractively tiled and roomy kitchen area at one end to the dining space and comfortable sitting area, where large picture windows fill the room with natural light.
French windows lead out to a south-facing, wrap-around sun terrace and the swimming pool within private, fenced gardens.
It has internet TV and CD/DVD Player. The villa has a telephone and internet connection for your computer. It has excellent reception for mobile telephones.

It's a comfortable and well equipped house with two bedrooms (one double-bedded, one triple-bedded, both with en-suite bathrooms), a lovely, spacious living room / kitchen area, a utility room and cloakroom.
The swimming pool (8 m x 4 m) is just outside with the terrace wrapping around it. There is about half an acre of fenced garden. Ancient olive trees provide a shaded play area for children. The brick-built barbecue is also under shade.
All around, the majestic scenery of the Serranía de Ronda provides brilliant brush strokes of colour and contrast. Surrounded by forests, hills and river valleys, there are excellent walking tracks, spectacular views and, during migration, masses of birds passing overhead.
It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, a perfect base for anyone who enjoys the peace and quiet of real Andalusian countryside.
Enthralling
"The swallows fledged while we were here and, like us, they didn't want to go far. Now we are flying north and the swallows are going south, let's hope we all meet up again soon".
The spectacular town of Ronda is an enjoyable hour's drive away, over the mountains and deep valleys of some spectacular countryside. The pretty 'pueblos' of Gaucín and Jimena de la Frontera, with their labyrinths of tiny cobbled streets and Moorish castles, are even closer.
San Pablo de Buceite lies in the Guadiaro valley 50 km north of Gibraltar, midway between Gaucín and Jimena de la Frontera.
Day trips can be made to Seville, Granada and Cordoba. The nearest beach is at Sotogrande (30 mins) and Tarifa, famous for its windsurfing and endless white sand beaches, is one hour away.
There are many golf courses at Sotogrande and horse riding and tennis are available near Jimena (10 mins away).
And if you are fancying a trip a little further afield, Gibraltar with its military history and duty free goods is only 45 minutes away.

This is an excellent base from which to explore this delightful and very beautiful part of Andalucía.
Excursions
- There are a plethora of beautiful white villages and hilltop towns to explore and enjoy in the magnificent countryside all around – starting, of course, with Jimena de la Frontera, just 10 minutes down the road. One of the most charming of Andalucia's small towns, its Moorish castle presides over a village well known for its traditional houses, narrow winding streets, bars and restaurants. It's charming.
- Others include Gaucín (20 minutes up the road), Casares, Genalguacil and lovely old Ronda, all surrounded by the majestic mountain scenery of the Serranía de Ronda and the fabulous Los Alcornocales Natural Park which starts immediately on the other side of Jimena. It's a paradise for walkers, riders, bird watchers, nature lovers and anyone looking for calm and relaxation.
- To the south there's Sotogrande (35 minutes away), a a completely different world of indulgent opulence and immaculately manicured golf courses and polo fields. Immediately beyond lie the sandy beaches, sun, fun and marinas of the Med. Resort towns include Estepona (one hour) and glitzy, glamorous Marbella (an hour and a bit).
- From here you are equally well placed to head for the Atlantic beaches on the Costa de la Luz. Gibraltar, steeped in history, VAT free shops … and fish & chips, is less than an hour away, but perhaps of more interest is Tarifa on the southernmost point of Spain, an hour from here. Looking directly across the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco, Africa is so close you feel that you can almost touch it!
- Beyond lie mile upon mile of magnificent white beaches.
- A taste of Morocco perhaps? The fast boat from Tarifa to Tangiers takes 35 minutes, so you can be exploring the local souks in just a few hours. Fascinating and colourful, it really is a different world.
- Spain's unique sherry wine region (Jerez and Sanlúcar), is well worth a visit, enhanced no doubt by stopping at one or two of the famous bodegas along the way! Jerez de la Frontera is a 90 minute drive.
- Cádiz (1¾ hours) continues to evoke the romance, intrigue and mystery of centuries of trade (some legal, some not so) between Europe, Africa and the Americas.
- One of Europe's most important wetland reserves and bird sanctuaries, the Doñana National Park, is a popular attraction for nature lovers (4 hours). Its enormous variety of bird species include everything from flamingos to imperial eagles.
- From Gaucín (20 minutes away) a beautiful road winds over the spectacular mountains to Ronda (45 minutes from Gaucín), with its spectacular gorge and Spain's oldest bullring, Hemmingway’s favourite town in all of Spain.
- Sevilla takes 2½ hours. It is impossible not to be captivated by its exuberant atmosphere: stylish, confident, ancient and proud, yet also convivial, intimate and fun-loving. If you don't know what alegría means, Sevilla is the place to learn!
- The fantastic railway between Algeciras on the coast and Ronda, to the north, stops at nearby Jimena. One of Europe’s great short railway journeys, running through landscapes which offer constantly plunging and spectacular views, this is a remarkable and wonderful way to see some of Andalucía's best and most dramatic countryside.
- Córdoba and Granada are both 3 hours drive from here
Activities
- Here you are in the heart of the "Costa del Golf" with at least 25 top quality golf courses (including Finca Cortesin, Valderrama, Sotogrande, and San Roque) all within half an hour's drive.
- On the coast (both the Costa del Sol and the Costa de la Luz) there’s every beach pursuit imaginable, from sailing and windsurfing, diving and snorkelling to whale and dolphin watching.
- Jimena de la Fontera has a decent municipal pool and there's excellent swimming in the pools of the nearby Hozgarganta river.
- The surrounding Los Alcornocales Natural Park is heaven-made for great walking. A bird watchers paradise too, no doubt you will be accompanied by ravens, golden orioles or huge buzzards soaring high overhead.
