Secluded
Surrounded by the verdant greenery of the pine forests of the Tarifa Natural Park, it's just 15 minutes walk to what is normally, a very secluded beach.
This is a special villa. Located deep within the Tarifa Natural Park, it is totally secluded, surrounded by the verdant greenery of pine forests, yet just 15 minutes walk to what is normally a very secluded beach.
Its golden sands and beautiful dunes should be all yours as it’s virtually inaccessible to the general public.
So here you can enjoy complete privacy amid gorgeous, wild and wonderful nature, with views to the Atlantic Ocean and the African coastline beyond – which are totally absorbing and completely irresistible. This is real and very rare beauty, making this one of the most unique places to stay anywhere in Andalucía.
Just ten kilometres from Tarifa, the last kilometre to the villa is along an unpaved track (easily passable in a normal car) through the pine forests. Suddenly, dramatically, the bay opens up before you and there is the villa, its soft hues of pastel glinting in the sunshine surrounded by wild, colourful gardens.
All yours
The golden sands and beautiful dunes should be all yours as the beach is virtually inaccessible to the general public.
The hills which surround it, at the rear and on both sides, create a natural wind-break, making this one of the calmest and most sheltered situations anywhere on the (frequently windy) Costa de la Luz.
South facing, the villa enjoys full sunshine from dawn until dusk.
Along the entire front (and continuing around the side), the covered terrace area provides a perfect spot to take in the view over a leisurely outdoor lunch, or just to relax with a good book and, no doubt, a glass of something equally satisfying close at hand …
Just in front, a small kidney-shaped pool (approx. 4 m x 2.5 m) is ideal for the children to enjoy a splash about, and for adults to cool down after a bit of mid-summer sun.
Sliding glass doors open to this terrace from the living space inside.
Views to Africa
Here you will enjoy complete privacy amid gorgeous, wild and wonderful nature, with views to the Atlantic Ocean and the African coastline beyond.
At one end is the well equipped kitchen / dining area which extends through to the lounge with its comfortable sofas and armchairs, its satellite TV, internet access et al. All furnishings are of good quality.
Cleverly designed to gain maximum enjoyment of the stupendous views over the ocean and the ever-changing light, this is an attractive space. A bathroom (shower only) completes the downstairs distribution.
The three bedrooms, two with attractive mosquito nets, are upstairs. There is one double with its own en-suite shower room, and two twin-bedded rooms which share a third bathroom (with a bath tub and shower) between them.
In one of the twin rooms, the beds can be pushed together if preferred. Two of the bedrooms have fantastic sea views. As elsewhere in the villa, the rooms are modern in style but in keeping with local tradition with their terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings.
La Costa de la Luz
The deep blue ocean rolls in on mile upon mile of fine golden sand, sand dunes and pine forests rise up behind.
Should you wish to explore a little further afield, there’s plenty more to enjoy around and about, here at the southern-most tip of Europe.
Tarifa, at the point that separates both Europe from Africa, and the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, is a surfing paradise and it’s lots of fun. The long stretches of white sandy beaches on the Costa de la Luz are there for you to discover. One of only a handful of shorelines left in the world where beaches are still backed by sand dunes rather than tower block hotels.
There’s Gibraltar ‘around the corner’ and the white villages and ancient towns of inland Cádiz to explore.
For those who like to expend a little energy when on holiday, there are a wealth of nature related activities: horse riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, bird watching, trekking, tennis, hang-gliding, scuba-diving, fishing and whale watching … and, of course, wind and kite surfing.
And there’s always the option of a day trip to Morocco … fast ferries leave regularly from both Algeciras and Tarifa, it’s a wonderful trip (especially the longer, three hour trip from Algeciras to Tangier), the ships often accompanied through the Straits by dolphins and even whales. When you step ashore, you will certainly know that you are in a different world!
