Once the bullfighting farm of one of Spain's most famous families, this fabulous luxury villa beautifully combines the very best in modern comfort with its inherent Spanish charm ...
A really beautiful home of the very highest quality, it exudes excellent good taste and exemplary style.
Holiday villas don’t come any more special than this!
No expense has been spared in the transformation of this impressive hacienda into a villa of the very highest quality. And, not just money either, it exudes excellent good taste and exemplary style.
The result is hugely impressive, a really beautiful and luxurious home which combines the very best in modern comfort with its inherent Spanish charm.
It’s in a splendid location too. Situated just outside the peaceful little farming hamlet of Cantarranas, it is surrounded by the wonderful natural beauty of the Alcornocales National Park, twenty minutes inland from Véjer de la Frontera, the crown jewel of Spain’s pueblos blancos, the whitest of all of Andalucía’s white villages!
The villa gleams bright and white in the Andalusian sunshine, built around three sides of a massive and attractively planted central courtyard.
Immediately beyond Véjer lie the unspoiled beaches of fine white sand and sandy coves of La Costa de la Luz on Spain’s Atlantic coast.
Historic towns such as Cádiz, Tarifa, Jerez de la Frontera and Sevilla are all within easy reach. A day trip across the Straits to Morocco is another fascinating option.
Electronic gates open to the villa’s two acre estate where there is a shaded car port (for four cars).
The villa stands impressively in front of you, gleaming bright and white in the Andalusian sunshine, built around three sides of a massive and attractively planted central courtyard.
It’s a magnificent building, once a classic Spanish estate house, now a dazzling home from home!
Luxuriously finished, it is equipped with the latest modern comforts including air conditioning and heating throughout.
Inside, all has been beautifully restored and refurbished to the very highest standards. White and light, it’s a huge house, 450 square metres, with a marvellous feeling of space. Soft colours and classic furnishings radiate calm and serenity.
Luxuriously finished, it is also extremely well equipped with the latest modern comforts including air conditioning and heating throughout, flat screen TVs (with a MoviStar television subscription), DVD, CD player and glass fiber internet connection.
Floors are either of the most lovely soft marble or highly polished wood. Beamed ceilings have been beautifully restored.
At one end is the spacious kitchen, fitted with quality appliances which include a huge electric oven, an American style fridge-freezer, five-ring gas hob, a wine fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Doors open to the dining terrace at the side of the house.
From the kitchen one moves seamlessly through double doors to a splendid dining room.
As elsewhere in the villa, the colour scheme is predominantly white with exquisite pieces of furniture (including some very fine antiques) and original artwork offering contrast and colour. Doors also opens to the dining terrace outside.
With the exception of the master bedroom, all the bedrooms can be made up as you want them, either as doubles or twins.
Continuing through the house at ground floor level, next comes the living room, another immaculately furnished space with huge, comfy sofas gathered around a wooden coffee table in front of the log fire, all under an impressive beamed ceiling.
There is a flat-screen Satellite TV, DVD player and the music system to keep you company.
This is followed by another, second sitting room which has an antique wooden writing desk, so could easily be used as a study if preferred. Beyond is the entrance hall (with a cloakroom/W.C).
There are three double bedroom suites on this floor, each with en-suite bathrooms and each of them as pristine and elegantly furnished as you would expect here. Note that, with the exception of the master bedroom, all the bedrooms here can be made up as you want them, either as doubles or twins.
Soft colours and classic furnishings radiate calm and serenity. Floors are either a lovely soft marble or highly polished wood. Beamed ceilings have been beautifully restored.
One of the bedrooms also has an adjoining sitting room which, if you prefer, can be closed off from the rest of the house to create independent living quarters, for staff or teenage children, for example.
Two double bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom is, simply, enormous! Handsomely furnished with sofas, antiques and a huge king sized bed, it also has a luxurious en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower as well as a bathtub.
If the second bedroom on this floor (also with en-suite bathroom) suffers, it’s only by comparison!
The property also features a newly refurbished Casita which can be rented in addition to the main house. The Casita is set in its own secret garden with separate access to the pool area. It includes a bedroom with en-suite bathroom (walk-in shower) and living room with a kitchenette. The living room offers direct access to a generous veranda and the garden beyond. The Casita is ideal for couples who cherish a little private luxury.
The two acres of private grounds and gardens feature a magnificent swimming pool, swathes of lawn, a secret garden, gym / games room and a cinema.
The two acres of private grounds and gardens feature a magnificent L shaped, walk-in swimming pool with a child’s shallow pool in the foot of the L (4 m x 3 m) where the crystal clear water is just 0.4 m deep. The main part of the pool is a splendid 15 m x 6 m.
The pool has night lighting, there are ten sunloungers and two pine day beds to relax on; the pergola and a huge fig tree provide shade.
It’s heavenly!
The grounds include wide swathes of lawn (ideal for children to play), a secret garden, olive and citrus trees. The central courtyard at the front of the villa provides another outdoor space, offering shade and tranquillity on warm summer evenings.
The owners are constantly making improvements and their latest project has been a complete refurbishment and redesign of the Casita, adding floor-heating, a new bathroom and kitchenette as well as a shaded veranda around the living room.
Looking out to richly planted, colourful flower beds, the bougainvillea covered terrace is the perfect place for relaxing and enjoying meals al fresco.
To the side of the farmhouse, a long, bougainvillea covered terrace (with doors opening from both the kitchen and the dining room) is the perfect place for relaxing and enjoying meals al fresco. It looks out through wide arches to richly planted, colourful flower beds.
Facilities include a barbecue, night lighting, a 12 seater dining table and attractive cane seating. Alongside, a utility room houses the washing machine and drier.
No doubt you will want to explore a little of this fabulous corner of Southern Spain.
Squeezed between the sierras and the sea, the hill town of Véjer de la Frontera is a perfectly preserved example of Andalusian life during its five centuries of Moorish occupation. Declared a national monument in 1978, it is a labyrinth of white-washed houses and winding cobbled streets.
Just down the road from Véjer are the magnificent beaches of the Costa de la Luz where the deep blue ocean rolls in on mile upon mile of fine golden sand.
There’s lots of history (a castle, medieval walls, the minaret of the old mosque, churches, convents) and lots of pretty, flower filled courtyards and small plazas too.
But it’s not just a museum piece, there’s a lively, fun atmosphere and, these days, some excellent bars and restaurants. It’s a flourishing little town and the pride and care of its residents in its upkeep are there for all to see. It is one of the most attractive of Spain’s delightful pueblos.
Just down the road from Véjer are the wonderful beaches of the Costa de la Luz. Mile upon mile of fine sandy beaches interspersed by little coves where fresh water trickles onto the beach through the sandstone cliffs above.
What makes these beaches so special is that they have largely escaped from the coastal over-development which has occurred just about everywhere else in Europe. It’s still possible to find a remote spot if you want to.
A really luxurious home which beautifully combines the very best in modern comfort with its inherent Spanish tradition and charm.
And, of course, there’s Tarifa, another small town of great character and history, these days, the mecca for wind and kite surfers! It’s position at the point which not only separates Europe from Africa but also the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean gives it a unique micro climate (it’s always mild but can get a wee bit windy!).
From here, fast ferries cross regularly to Morocco. A day trip to Tangiers will take you to a very different world …
Closer to home, not far from the villa, there are some prestigious golf courses still with very reasonable green fees and other excellent facilities such as spar, health and beauty centres, horse riding and tennis – and there are some good restaurants around and about, too.
If you just want to jump into the car and explore, there are wonderfully scenic drives from here to the historic towns of Ronda, Jerez, Cádiz and Sevilla, all well worth visiting.
Best of all, you will be returning to one of the most magnificent holiday villas in Spain. One that still retains it’s magical Spanish tradition and its place in history.
Luxurious, yes, in every way, but it’s not just another “Marbella-style” made-to-measure mansion. It has genuine character as well as fabulous style.
We think you will like it …
