Surrounded by vast areas of glorious, protected nature...
Obra Maestra!
In the jewel of La Sierra de Aracena.
…And then came the “obra maestra”!
This is the last, but not the least, of these three gems. From the outside this appears to be just like any other village house along the street, but as soon as you open the door you appreciate the difference.
Wow! It really is quite a spectacular welcoming! Full of light and open space – One enters directly into an incredibly spacious and elegant, open plan kitchen, living and dinning room.
Miles and miles of rolling hills, wooded valleys and dramatic rocky outcrops to explore
The entire far wall of this room is glass, with sliding doors leading out onto a covered terrace, with wonderful views, framed by arches, onto open countryside and the valley beyond.
To the left of the entrance door is the kitchen area with a large kitchen isle that incorporates the sink, ample work space and a breakfast bar with stools.
The kitchen is fully equipped in keeping with the standard and style of the house.
And while in the kitchen, you are also part of any activity or gathering going on in the sitting room, dinning area or even out onto the terrace.
Perfect for large or small groups
Here it is all at the heart of the house – Preparing a meal, enjoying a drink, sitting at the elegant dinning table for eight, relaxing on the sofa or just sitting on the terrace taking the sun (or shade) – you will all be part of the goings-on.
This space is decorated with curiosities and beautiful finds gathered by the owners on their travels around the world.
The sitting area has two comfy leather sofas in front of a wood burning fireplace, a perfect place to enjoy the cooler winter nights.
There is a WC to the right of the entrance door.
But there is also plenty of space to get away from it all and enjoy the peace of your own company…
...and attractive villages you can easily forget the rest of the world
This house is built on three levels, from the main room stairs lead down to a good sized TV/games room – and from here glass doors out to a partially covered terrace and a sunny pool patio.
The pool is not large but it is big enough for a refreshing dip (if you want a more energetic swim the 25 meter municipal pool is just 5 minutes away).
Under the covered terrace there is a shower with a base that doubles as a paddling pool, big enough for the grandchildren to spend hours playing in the water while protected from the sun.
An ideal place to rest and relax at anytime of day or night!
This terrace is furnished, has a BBQ and stairs up to a meditation deck, an ideal spot to practice meditation, yoga or to simple enjoy the peace and countryside around you.
On this ground level, to the back of the house, there are two spacious, interior bedrooms.
One is a double and the other a twin, that share a full bathroom, and although these rooms do not get direct sun light, each has a very efficient light tunnel.
On this level there is also a WC and utility room with washing machine and sink.
... and it is just outside your door!
Back upstairs to the living area and on up to the two main double bedrooms. One to the back of the house. A beautiful large room with en suite shower room and a furnished terrace with views out to the orchards, fields, the valley and open skies beyond.
The second double bedroom, also en-suite, is to the front of the house and again is a spacious, bright room – with sloping ceilings and windows down at floor level. It has a very cosy, appealing atmosphere – the floral fabric, white curtains, large mirrors, light coloured wood, cheerful rugs and armchairs, make this an ideal room to rest and relax at anytime of day or night!
This is not just a pretty home, it’s also an ideal base from which to explore the Aracena National Park, a vast areas of glorious, protected nature. Incredibly beautiful and varied…It is ideal for walkers
The Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche natural park covers 184,000 hectares of woodland, mostly Mediterranean oak, but with a fantastic variety of flora and fauna. With an extensive network of footpaths and centuries-old drovers’ tracks, many now signposted tracks, meandering from village to hamlet, it’s easy to explore the Sierra on foot….and it is just outside your door!
